I am originally from Bogota, the capital of Colombia in South America. Through my younger years I was able to travel around the world to places such as Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, England, France, Spain and Cuba. All this traveling helped me understand the multi-cultural world that we live in and accept the uniqueness of every individual. At the age of 12, my family and I moved to New Jersey, and three years later to Charlotte, North Carolina. I attended South Meck HS, and earned my bachelors degree at Appalachian State University. Currently, I am working on my masters at UNC-Charlotte.
For a high school student, it is important to begin preparation for college, and learn how to make positive contributions to our community. My goal is not only for my students to learn Spanish, but I want them to learn how to accept other cultures, and understand how diverse we are. I believe that by creating a positive environment in our small learning community, our students can better prepare themselves for the future.
